Why GamerSafe? Why Micro-Transactions?

GamerSafe is brought to you by the team who made FlashGameLicense.com. We're all about putting more money into developer's pockets, and micro-transactions are a very effective way to do this. But why use GamerSafe instead of implementing micro-transactions yourself or using another service?

Virtual Currency: Having a currency that spreads over multiple games has proven to be a great way to get users take the plunge and spend money on games. The unified currency gives them a virtual "wallet" they can dip into at any time to spend money on any game across the GamerSafe system.

Easy Upsell: Many gamers are skittish about micro-payments. GamerSafe helps you soothe nervous players with free incentives like GamerPoints, which they can earn just by playing. They can then spend these points on pre-selected virtual items in your game or other GamerSafe games. This secondary currency gets players used to the system, so that when they are ready to spend real money on GamerGold, it's an easy step.

Interactivity Features: With features like persistent game saves and items, achievements, and dynamic leaderboards, players get hooked and invested in your game. This also gives them a great incentive to spend real money.

How Much Money Will I Make From Micro-Transactions?

Our virtual currency, GamerGold, is valued to developers at $.005 US (that's half a penny). If you sell something for 200 GamerGold, the gross payment for your item will be $1 USD. You get 60% of this gross amount. In our example item sold for 200 GamerGold, you would make 60 cents USD for each sale.

Keep in mind that you get 60% of the gross, not of the net, like other companies. This means that our 40% share includes all associated costs. A large portion of our gross share actually goes to portals -- we work with many major portal sites to get GamerSafe games placed prominently on their websites. When a sale is made on one of these partner portals, the portal gets a share of the proceeds. The portal's money comes out of GamerSafe's share of each sale.

In addition, our share pays for bandwidth, customer service, fraud prevention, and payment fees. (For instance, if a player buys GamerGold with their PayPal account, the PayPal fees come out of our share of the sales.)

Finally, as an incentive to get players to buy lots of GamerGold, we offer bonus GamerGold when people buy lots of it at once. Unlike some companies, we don't make developers pay for that "free money": that bonus GamerGold comes out of GamerSafe's share of the proceeds.

We've tried hard to keep the system predictable, so it's easy for you to tell exactly how much money you will make per sale. If you have questions about money distribution or anything else, please drop us a line. We hope to see you on GamerSafe!

Payment splitting: Was the game developed as a partnership? Not a problem. You have the ability to subdivide your payments into as many separate slices as you want! We pay each person (who has amassed at least $50 USD) quarterly.

We currently pay developers via PayPal; if you need other arrangements, please let us know when you submit your game for GamerSafe approval.
