We want to see creative, fun, original games that make great use of the Meez animations and avatars!
Careful effort and thought has been put into making this contest compatible with other revenue opportunities. The only Meez 'branding' that is required is a non-clickable Meez Inside logo and a small 'import your own Meez avatar' button on the character select screen.
Here's an example of how to brand your game.
You may seek a sponsor, use in-game ads in your sponsored version, and sell non-exclusive licenses. Participants may market their game as they see fit, as long as the Meez Inside character selector and API implementation remain intact in the distributable version of the game.
By submitting your game, you grant Meez a non-exclusive license to display the entry on meez.com, with in-game ads removed, should it be one of the eight winners of the contest. (You may use in-game ads when distributing to other portals, but you must provide Meez with an ad-free version for their use only on their website.)
The Meez API must be integrated in the game. Click here to download the contest starter package.
You can also use these additional art resources in your game as long as it is a MeezInside game with the Meez API: Art Pack 1 and Art Pack 2.
A character selector that allows players to choose from a minimum of two “built-in” avatars, or import a Meez.com avatar, must be present in the game. A template example is provided with the contest downloadable package.
The game may not include any copyrighted content used without the permission of the copyright owner. (ie – no sprites pulled from Nintendo ROMs, etc…)
The content of the game should be limited to the equivalent of a 'PG-13”, or “E-T” rating.
The game must be built for the Flash 8 or Flash 9 player using Actionscript 2.0 or Actionscript 3.0.
The contest is open to individuals and companies worldwide. Residents and companies of countries under U.S. embargo, including Cuba, Iran, Libya, North Korea, Sudan, and Syria are not eligible to enter. Employees of Donnerwood Media Inc, its affiliates, subsidiaries, advertising and promotion agencies, and the immediate families of each may not enter. Void where prohibited.
You must have legal right to commercially distribute your entry in order to be eligible. Your entry can use third-party libraries, as long as the legal distribution requirements are met. Donnerwood Media Inc reserves the right to disqualify any entry which we feel will not represent us well in the global marketplace.
